Najarian to develop 40,000-square-foot freestanding showroom

09-18-2017

AT THE MARKET – Case goods importer Najarian Furniture has acquired property at 113 West Green Dr., where it plans to build a 40,000-square-foot freestanding showroom.

The company acquired the 0.34-acre lot in mid-February. It was previously owned by Clarence M. Ilderton and was operated as a service station from 1961-1997. The building was razed in 1997 and has been a vacant lot since.

Najarian has been showing at 220 Elm since 2009 and will occupy the new Modern French inspired freestanding building in early spring 2018.

“With the growth of our company, the lifestyle brand we’ve created, as well as our belief in culturing strong, lasting relationships, it’s essential we have space that’s perfectly suited for our current and long-term business goals,” said Michael Najarian, president, adding that the company has been looking to develop its own freestanding building for some time.

“We’re very excited about what this means for our company and are so grateful to our loyal customers and friends for making this possible,” says Najarian. “We’d be remiss too, if we didn’t thank Heinz Kattenfeld and the 220 Elm team. They have been incredibly accommodating and great to work with. They have certainly played a big part in our success, and we will remain in their debt.”

Najarian Furniture Adds Three Collections at the October High Point Market

10-7-2015

HIGH POINT - Najarian Furniture is adding three fashion-forward bedroom and dining room collections during the upcoming October High Point Market covering a range of contemporary, transitional, and traditional style categories to its ever-stylish case goods line.

Introductions include a high-fashion, avant-garde style casual dining collection, a classic traditional American inspired bedroom and dining collection, and a clean-lined contemporary dining and bedroom collection. The designs are original, trend-setting, and ruefully chic.

“Retailers continue to look to Najarian for high style at a high perceived value,” said Michael Lawrence, vice president of sales and marketing, “It’s what we’re known for and what we’ve successfully brought to the marketplace for over 25 years to more than half of the Top 100 furniture dealers.”

This High Point Market, Najarian plays on their strengths of creating out-of-the-ordinary mixed media collections, incorporating European influences and translating them to American styling and presenting retailers with a variety of fresh looks not to be found elsewhere.

New collections include:

Riviera: This 24 piece bedroom and dining collection draws inspiration from classic, traditional American styles, and features a rich Pecan finish embellished with metal inlays, giving the pieces a slight industrial feel. The updated collection is made over to a more relaxed transitional feel, making it the perfect fit for shoppers who love the familiar, yet still want something trendy.

Headliners of the Riviera collection include:

A bed that can be constructed in several different ways, as customization continues to be of huge importance to shoppers. Shoppers can choose from a bed that has no storage, storage in the footboard, or the grand captain’s bed that has six storage drawers.

The dining collection incorporates complementary contrasting metal details on the apron of the table. The two side chair options include a wood-framed upholstered back side chair and a fully upholstered back with large nail heads for a more casual, eclectic look. The server and china also incorporate metal details. The china features sliding doors for a clean, elegant look.

Fantasia: The name says it all for this “fantastical airy” 12-piece bedroom and dining collection fashioned in white lacquer and chocolate. Clean-lines, contemporary styling, and a modern Italian-influenced twist give this collection a serene, modern feeling without feeling cold. While the style is more commonly fashioned in simple lines and smaller scaled furnishings, Fantasia takes the high road with its larger scale, scalloped design features on the drawers, a contrasting chocolate base, and bold turned legs bejeweled with chrome caps. The collection’s abundant elegance and ornamental detail complete the look. From modern to transitional decors, or as stand-alone statement makers, the Fantasia collection is sure to not only complement, but impress.

Orbit, a three-piece casual dining collection in an Espresso finish offers shoppers with smaller dining spaces a refined high-end, formal dining feel, in a fraction of the size. The avant-garde styled collection offers shoppers an alternative to the sea of traditional brown sets that are commonly found in “casual dining.” The collection incorporates mixed media elements such as mirror and contrasting gold wood design inlay and dramatic turned legs. The server is a work of art and not only functions in the dining but also makes a dramatic statement in a foyer, hallway, or fashion bath.

These collections as well as others not mentioned will be introduced in Najarian’s 30,500-square-foot showroom in the 220 Elm building, Space 220 during the upcoming High Point Market being held October 17 through October 22.

Najarian Kids Expands Youth Line with Two New Groups

10-7-2015

HIGH POINT - Case goods resource Najarian Furniture expands its fashion-forward youth line during the October High Point Market at their 220 Elm showroom.

The company, which launched its youth program during the spring 2012 High Point Market, found a niche in the youth segment that their overall business model perfectly fills—high style at a high perceived value.

According to Michael Lawrence, vice president of sales and marketing, applying the same principles that work for the company’s popular case goods line to the Najarian Kids program has proven greatly successful.

“Customers look to Najarian for high fashion, original products that offer a lot of look at a great value,” says Lawrence. “Our youth line has grown to be an important part of our business by offering collections that are in line with this business model.”

Najarian Kids debuts two bedroom groups this Market that are feminine, stylish and on-trend. They are:

 • Fantasy: A sophisticated, clean-lined girls design fashioned in an on-trend Pearlized Ivory paint finish, featuring soft, modern scalloped curves, with contrasting tone-on-tone hardware pulls.  A unique link pattern is utilized by incorporating two different colors of PU into the headboard to create visual interest. Shaped drawer fronts mimic the headboard design. Ten pieces are available, including a lingerie chest, traditional chest, dresser, and mirror.

Fantasy was created to fill the need at the youth level for more fashion focused looks.

• Savoy: A reinterpreted romantic Victorian-inspired collection that features an Antique White finish with silver tipping. The traditional group, inspired by the French countryside, is fresh, updated, and has sweetly shaped pieces with molded framing, antique gold hardware pulls, and cane accents.

The collection has 10 pieces, including a lingerie chest, traditional chest, dresser, and mirror.

Najarian Furniture Enhanced Assortment with 8 Fashion Infused Case Goods Groups

Defined Looks Take Center Stage

HIGH POINT – California-based case goods company Najarian Furniture expanded its product assortment at the recent High Point Market with new bedroom and dining room groups whose success demonstrated that the long sought out transitional trend is now making room for more defined looks.

“These last couple of years transitional has been a leading trend and a real strength for us,” says Michael Lawrence, vice president of sales and marketing. “And we’ll continue to feed that hungry market in creative ways by incorporating unique details that reflect a more modern sensibility.”

During the Spring High Point Market, the company introduced new collections that are markedly contemporary, reclaimed looks, as well as styles boasting an architectural influence.

According to Lawrence, the perspectives paid off as several collections were noted by retailers as being, “the best thing they’d seen” at Market.

“Business is up and we’re seeing some consistent momentum on groups at retail,” notes Lawrence. “For retailers there’s a sweet spot of opportunity as shoppers are finally comfortable buying again. Business is good and retailers are looking for fresh, standout styles that offer a high level of perceived value for their customers.”

Najarian Furniture Brings New Dimension to Décor With Architecturally Inspired Rodeo Collection

5-30-2015

HIGH POINT – Trend setting case goods importer Najarian Furniture, introduced its architecturally inspired, 3D Rodeo Collection at the recent High Point Market.

Credited as being one of the hottest new trends in both interior and exterior design, the classic, organic, yet modern stacked stone dimensional look is far from new, yet is being reinvented in Najarian Furniture’s Rodeo collection.

According to Michael Lawrence, vice president of sales and marketing, the staggered pattern, which creates a three-dimensional mosaic, adds a sophisticated layer of texture to the collection’s appeal.

The Rodeo collection touches on a couple of trends we’re seeing both in architecture as well as interior design. The drawer fronts are designed to mimic the stack stone-styled cladding that is prevalent now in contemporary building design. The pattern itself feels varied while still looking clean and sophisticated,” according to Lawrence.

The dining and bedroom collection, crafted in Mango Solids and Cherry Veneers, encompasses sixteen pieces and features a rich, luxurious Walnut finish.

Notable features include:

  • Round tapered legs endcapped with brass caps that harmoniously tie into thoughtful hardware giving a slight nod to the current mid-century revival.

  • A fabric upholstered headboard in the bedroom collection accented with just a hint of wood trim, softening the collection and adding to its eclectic feel and appeal.

  • A glass top pedestal dining table that incorporates 2 drawers for convenient storage and fills the void for well-designed glass top dining tables at a mid-priced point.

We listen to our retailers and what they see as being important in the marketplace,” states Lawrence. “From there, we design and present product. We’re hearing that

more consumers are looking for casual glass top dining with great design. We’re seeing

that a majority of shoppers don’t necessarily want ‘matching’ case pieces evidenced by the growth in sales of fully upholstered beds. Both the dining and bedroom selections in the Rodeo Collection are in line with what retailers are looking to present on their sales floors and what shoppers are seeking for their homes.”

Najarian unveiled the new Rodeo Collection during the recent April High Point Market.

LICENSED BRANDS

APRIL 25, 2012

HIGH POINT - Dealers seeking to reinvigorate their youth furniture displays are seeing a host of new, design-driven product here with new features and benefits that add value.

Perhaps one of the biggest success stories in youth this market is Najarian's extensive launch of licensed youth brands Paul Frank, Hello Kitty and Barbie, each with about 50 pieces.

Dealers are responding well to each line, including Paul Frank's line of youth bedroom and seating depicting the popular Julius Monkey character, which already is on apparel, backpacks and even cell phone cases, the company said.

Dealers like the whimsical nature of the collection, which features beds with interchangeable color panels, some of which depict the Julius character. Other popular pieces include marshmallow bed benches, a chair and footrest, fully upholstered chairs and other seating.

The Barbie and Hello Kitty collections also feature whimsical pieces designed for young girls, including vanity tables and chalkboards on easels.

The company also says it's receiving strong dealer response to three other new Najarian youth lines, including two girls groups in its Missy Couture collection. These include Impressions, which features a $399 contemporary shelter bed with nailhead trim. Dealers also like the mirror-like acrylic drawer fronts on cases in the same collection.

Some youth bedrooms at market, including some at Magnussen Home and New Classic, tie in with adult bedroom designs. This allows the groups to have a longer shelf life, in effect growing with the child as they enter their teen years.

APRIL 24, 2012

Saban Brands has announced a new partnership with global home furnishings manufacturer Najarian Furniture Company, for the production of a line of Paul Frank youth furniture.

“From a style and design perspective, our partnership with Paul Frank feels like a natural extension of what we do and allows us to create a great-looking product that is unlike anything else in the marketplace,” says Mike Najarian, president, Najarian Furniture Company.

The newly designed furniture collection, targeted to toddlers through teens, will feature complete bedroom sets, storage cubes, stackable ottomans and desk chairs.

YOUTH BEDROOM PRODUCTS

MARCH 07, 2012

Expansion Timed for Youth Bedroom Products Launch

HIGH POINT – Case goods importer Najarian Furniture will renovate and occupy a new, two-floor showroom in time for the April High Point Market. Moving from another showroom location within 220 Elm to space 220, which is accessible from the building’s courtyard, Najarian will increase total square footage from 17,000 to 23,500.

The additional space will be used, in part, to accommodate Najarian’s entry in the youth bedroom products category, announced earlier this month. Najarian Kids will debut its licensed collections and in-house designs geared to younger tastes– from toddlers to teens – at the spring tradeshow.

“We are extremely confident regarding our opportunity to grow in the youth category,” says Michael Lawrence, vp of sales, Najarian. “Early retailer feedback indicates that we’re on the right track in terms of product mix and price points.”

Najarian will also present product introductions in its contemporary and transitional collections for both dining room and bedroom.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new showroom will feature special guests and will be followed by a celebration for dealers on Saturday, April 21st in the 220 Elm building courtyard, beginning at 5pm.
